
TRAUMA-INFORMED HORSE TRAINER CERTIFICATE FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Emma Lethbridge’s instructor-led ‘Trauma-Informed Horse Trainer Certificate’ course.

In order to be an accredited Trauma-Informed Horse Trainer students need to pass the course assignments.
There are two course assignments - a 2,000 word written submission and a 10 minute case study presented live via Zoom.
Case studies must be presented live via Zoom. Pre-recorded videos will not be accepted.
Details of both assignments are available to enrolled students in the Course Assignments section of the course. -
Both assignments are scored according to a rubric which is available to enrolled students in their course documents.
The pass mark for both assignments is 75%.
Students will not receive detailed feedback on their individual assignments or rubric scoring. -
In order to pass the course and achieve accreditation, students must meet the deadlines published in the Course Assignments section of the course.
Extensions to assignment deadlines may be granted only in exceptional circumstances.
Deadline extensions must be requested in writing - before the deadline - via email to info@understandhorses.com. -
Dates and times of case study assessments via Zoom for individual students are available in the 'Course Assignments' section of the course when the course starts.
Any changes to dates/times must be requested in writing to info@understandhorses.com before the end of Week 2 of the course. -
After successfully passing both assignments and completing the course, accredited Trauma-Informed Horse Trainers will receive an Understand Horses course completion certificate and a certificate of accreditation from UK Rural Skills.

If a student fails one or both assignments then they will not pass the course and will not receive a certificate or accreditation.
Students can resit one or both assignments for an additional fixed fee on one occasion.
Applications to resit must be made in writing by email to info@understandhorses.com within 48 hours of receiving marks.
RESIT FEES:
Assignment 1: £50
Case Study Assessment: £100
Resit arrangements will be made on a case by case basis. -
Yes, after successful completion of the course, accredited Trauma-Informed Horse Trainers will have the opportunity download logos for print or online use.

Yes, on successful completion of the course you will be granted access to a private community of Trauma-Informed Horse Trainers.

All course material will be available for 30 days after the course has finished.
